After completing this Module, you will be able to:

Identify, explain, and determine the changes that occurred during the Scientific Revolution that resulted in developments towards a new means for experimentation.
Define the method of doubt, describe substance dualism, and show one problem with it.
Identify Hobbes' view of human nature, describe the state of nature, and explain how the transition to civil society emerged.
Review one of Locke's arguments against innate ideas, contrast materialism with idealism, and explain one of Berkeley's arguments against materialism.
Identify the basic elements of knowledge, distinguish rationalism and empiricism, and examine the rationalist-empiricist debate.
