About the Exam

This is an open-course, multiple-choice exam. An open-course exam means you have access to all course lessons and modules while taking the assessment.

This is a timed exam. Complete the exam in one testing session. Do not attempt to leave or pause the exam before submitting it.

You will have a 2-hour time limit to complete this course exam. The time limit will provide enough time to use the course information as a resource when taking the exam, however, it is still recommended that you study for the exam prior to taking it. A countdown will display on your screen after starting the exam.

Valid School I.D. Required

Before starting your exam, Honorlock will require that you verify your identity through a valid picture ID. The Honorlock system will only allow students to enter exams after a valid picture ID with the student's name and picture included.

Acceptable Student IDs

Honorlock accepts most government-issued IDs including:

Government Issued IDs
- Driver's licenses
- Passports
Institution Issued Photo IDs
- High School Issued Student IDs
- University or College Issued Student IDs

Test Your ID Before Taking the Exam

To determine if your ID will work, perform an ID check.

Students may demo this ID process before their official exam
- Use the link in Honorlock to test your ID Links to an external site.
- Return to Exam Module to start actual course exam
Some students may need to wipe off their cameras for the ID scan to work.

Steps to Scan your ID when Starting the Exam

To complete this process, follow steps below

Have a valid form of ID
Select "I Have My ID"
Hold your ID in the middle of the webcam and click Take ID Photo
Ensure your ID is legible
Complete a 360° scan of your room and work area
Click "Begin Room Scan"
Click I'm Done when the room scan is complete
Select "Yes, Submit" when the scan shows your testing environment
Click "Launch" or "Begin Exam"

Additional Information

Exam Materials

This is an open-course exam. This means, you will have access to the information in the course, ie. the lessons, the modules, etc. However, you will not have access to any information linked into the course, ie. video transcripts, weekly schedules, study guides, practice questions, and mastery assignment PDFs, etc. Access to resources located outside of the Canvas course are strictly prohibited when taking an exam. This includes Youtube videos, and links to resources and/or websites outside of Canvas. This includes any link to a website that has been added to the Canvas course as an outside resource. Any links to resources located outside of the Canvas course will not be accessible during the exam.

You are allowed to bring a blank sheet of paper and a pencil to use as scratch paper in the exam.

Testing Environment Expectations

In this exam, you are expected to have a quiet, secure testing environment free of distractions. You are allowed to access your course for reference during the exam, but you must follow the guidelines detailed here. Review the chart below and be sure you understand the exam expectations before beginning your exam.

Do use only one computer monitor/desktop.	Do not use more than one monitor or multiple devices. Cellphone and tablets are strictly prohibited.
Do use two tabs within the same window to access your test and course material simultaneously.	Do not open a separate window (a tab within the same window to access your course material is permitted). Do not conduct internet searches outside of Canvas.
Do leave your cell phone, tablet, and other devices outside of your testing area. The use of cellphones and other devices is strictly prohibited.	Do not attempt to bring your cellphone into the exam.
Do find a quiet space free of interruptions.	Do not take the exam in common area in your home, a high-traffic area in your home or, in a public setting. Do not allow others to remain in or enter your testing space while you are testing.
Do set your computer on a proper desk or table at which you can be seated upright.	Do not attempt to take the exam from any other location where you are not at a desk including but not limited to the floor, a bed, a beanbag chair, the sofa, a lounge chair outside, etc.
Do close all third-party apps, programs, extensions, and windows before beginning your exam.	Do not attempt to use any extensions, websites, programs etc., outside of the acceptable Canvas course.
Do bring your computer, a charger, a piece of blank scratch paper (8.5 by 11), a sharpened pencil, graph paper, and the prepared 3x5 notecard with course notes to the exam.	Do not bring any textbooks, books, additional notes beside the 3x5 notecard, additional electronic devices (tablets, calculators, music devices, headphones, etc.), course documents (study guide, practice questions, syllabus, weekly schedules, etc.) or hats to the exam.

Failure to comply with any course exam expectations may result in failure of the exam, removal from course and/or removal from future enrollment in this or other courses.
